Support for Jon Cole

Jon is proud to have the backing of those who care about Vermillion's future.

"We have a great amount of wonderful things happening in Vermillion. New housing developments multi family housing income based housing addition on the Madison Street housing to the north of the existing buildings, Senior Housing out on the Jack Powell addition. Also great growth on the business side. Masaba addition which almost doubled the number of jobs they offer. We are always looking forward for the next opportunity that will benefit the city in the best way possible. When elected I was nervous but excited. We have a great city staff that made it easy to catch on quickly and answer questions I had. I said when I was elected that change started then. And it has. Mayor Cole has been on the forefront of this change. He's a great leader and friend. The City of Vermillion is undoubtedly better today than it was 4 years ago. Mayor Cole and the council, I feel work very well together. We have accomplished so much. Therefore I am endorsing Mayor Cole for reelection. I want to see this momentum we have continue. If you agree with what you see happening in the city and the growth and positive impact he's had on it , I would ask you to get out and vote to re elect Mayor Cole. Thanks for your support. Vote June 2 or go vote early. "
— Mike Murra, Vermillion Northwest Ward Councilman

Vermillion benefits from having a mayor who is both a dedicated community leader and a respected voice in Pierre. I strongly encourage your support of Jon Cole for re-election."

"I have had the privilege to serve as Mayor for 5 yrs. I have worked with Jon Cole with similar concerns for our communities. Jon has been an asset with other mayors to get legislation passed to benefit all of our communities. Jon exemplifies integrity and transparency. I'm proud to call him my friend even though we are from competing university cities."

"Jon Cole has proven himself as a mayor who builds strong relationships across South Dakota. His collaborative leadership strengthens statewide ties that benefit our local communities. Vermillion is well served with Jon serving as mayor."
— Jason Salamun, Mayor of Rapid City, SD
"Jon and I had deep discussions about his dream to serve the good folks of Vermillion as their Mayor. He impressed me from the get go, and I was confident that he would be a solid fit for the role. He relayed the virtues of real public service to me, and wanted to focus on the people, their needs, and ultimately "get things done" for a town he loves. Well, there has been no doubt that "Mayor Jon" has followed through. He has helped achieved many goals for Vermillion, and has embodied the virtues of a true public servant for all of you. It is your city, and your choice, but I would strongly encourage you to re-elect Mayor Jon Cole for another term. Even better things to come!"
— Mike Huether, Former Mayor of Sioux Falls 2010-2018
